Our meal plans are designed to meet the unique needs of Oberlin students, who are required to purchase a meal plan. Our plans come with varying amounts of meal swipes to be used primarily in the Dining Halls, and Flex Dollars, which is a declining balance account similar to a debit card. Each plan also comes with the meal exchange option available at select retail dining locations for a predefined entree, side and beverage option. Multiple meal plan options are available for you to choose from based on your dining preferences and needs.

FAQs
What do I get for a meal exchange at DeCafe?
Meal Exchanges in Retail Dining locations offer a lot of flexibility from a full meal to a snack or drink. To get the most of your meal exchange opt for one entrée from the Fresh to Go options in the cooler (a sandwich, salad, or wrap), a side (anything from a bag of chips, a banana, overnight oats, fresh veggies, or cheese and grapes). You may also get one upgraded item at no additional charge for a meal exchange. Upgraded items are marked on the shelf labels as +1, +2, or +3
How do you handle allergens in your kitchens? How do I safely eat on campus if I have a food allergy?
There is allergen free dining at Talcott as well as an allergen-free station in Stevenson, allergen-free Fresh-to-Go available in DeCafe. We’re happy to meet with any students who have specific dietary needs or questions about food preparation or ingredients to determine how we can best meet their needs.
What meats are halal on campus?
All of our chicken breast throughout campus is halal in addition to the chicken tenders at the Rathskeller. In addition to chicken, all of our lamb and ground beef served on campus are also halal. If you have questions about halal foods on campus please ask a manager or text our “Talk-to-the-Manager” line
What does “gluten sensitive” mean?
“Gluten sensitive” means that the food item is made without any gluten-containing products but was produced in a kitchen that contains gluten. We follow the same protocols as any other food allergen to mitigate cross-contact as well as utilize a “purple kit” specifically to prepare gluten sensitive items.
